TILNEY ALL SAINTS: Couple’s golden gift

A couple who met at Lynn’s Mart marked their golden wedding anniversary by giving £300 to the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

John and Pamela Staff, both 69, of Tilney All Saints, were treated to a surprise party by their son and daughter when they were reunited with old friends, who all donated.

Mr Staff said: “It was a lovely evening and a complete surprise.

“The EAAA is our chosen charity. We always do their lottery and sell raffle tickets for them.”

The couple met by chance when Mrs Staff’s friend failed to turn up to the fair.

Mr Staff said: “She didn’t know me from Adam, but it was a bit of luck the person she was meeting didn’t show up.

“I think the secret to a happy marriage is just say yes.”
