Tilney youngsters' maths fun
YOUNGSTERS at Tilney St Lawrence Primary School enjoyed a variety of games and activities during a special maths week.
The school was visited by the N-Rich Maths Roadshow, from Cambridge University, which specialises in making the subject fun and appealing for children.
Parents were also encouraged to get involved and were invited to go back to school and take part in an afternoon of maths lessons and activities.
Assistant headteacher Mrs Jenny Atkins said: "The N-Rich roadshow worked with all our four classes and brought maths activities. During maths week we had an information evening for parents, to show them how we teach maths.
"Obviously it has changed quite a lot since they were at school and they will be able to help more with homework now they know the methods we use.
"We also set up a new maths club, which has three sessions a week – two after school and one at breakfast time. Around 23 children are taking part, which is really good considering we only have 84 pupils at the school. The children all really enjoy maths."
