Trapped inside cars in West Norfolk
FIREFIGHTERS were called to free people trapped in two cars which were involved in separate incidents on West Norfolk roads last Friday evening.
Two fire appliances and an emergency tender were called to a collision between a car and a lorry in High Street, Fincham, at 5.26pm. Hydraulic cutting equipment was used to release one trapped person after half-an-hour.
Ambulance crews dealt with some minor injuries at the scene and one man was taken to Lynn's Queen Elizabeth Hospital with a shoulder injury.
At 6.01pm, fire crews from Great Massingham and Lynn turned out to a car which had rolled over on the B1145 between Gayton and Great Massingham. Hydraulic rescue equipment was used to free one person trapped in the vehicle.
An ambulance crew took one female casualty to the Lynn hospital, while firefighters made sure the area was safe and also provided lighting at the scene for police.
On Sunday, at 9.49am, a Lynn fire crew and an ambulance were sent to a two-vehicle collision in Low Road, South Wootton, after a report that a car was on fire.
There was no fire and nobody was trapped, but the firefighters made the location safe. The ambulance crew treated a 38-year-old woman for a minor leg injury and an eight-year-old child for a minor facial wound at the scene.
