"She was a fun-loving but hardworking young person who was admired and respected by her peers. Nothing was too much trouble for Claire, and she was always willing to help other members of her group and would go out of her way to support others in need.

"Even at this early stage in the course it was anticipated that Claire would be highly successful and progress to a challenging career. She was articulate and intelligent and a pleasure to teach.

"Claire will be missed immensely by all of her fellow students and tutors."

Claire, of West Walton, suffered fatal injuries alongside Robert Hostler (17) as they pulled onto the A47 at Walsoken and were in collision with a Lynn-bound Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The Cherokee driver, said to be from the "Wisbech area", has been released on bail pending further inquiries, after being arrested and questioned on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
