Two trapped by Burnham Deepdale crash

FIREFIGHTERS had to cut the roof off a car to free two trapped passengers after a car overturned in Burnham Deepdale Tuesday night.

The accident happened at around 10.30pm on Whiteway Road, near the junction with the A148, when a blue Ford Mondeo travelling towards the village lost control, overturned and came to rest against a tree.

Crews from Hunstanton, Heacham and Wells were all called to the scene and used hydraulic rescue equipment to help free the driver and passengers.

The 20-year-old male driver was left with head injuries while a 22-year-old female passenger suffered injuries to her arm and leg.

Two further passengers sustained minor cuts and grazes and an injured leg and a cut to the head.

Any witnesses to the collision, or the manner of driving of the vehicle involved, should contact PC Dave Allen or PC John Bolderstone at Swaffham Road Policing on 0845 456 4567.
