West Anglia staff presented with awards

HIGH-achieving and long-serving members of the staff at the College of West Anglia have received awards in a scheme introduced by the new principal.

David Pomfret, who took over the role at the beginning of this term, launched Staff Awards for Excellence at a presentation evening at Leziate Park Country Club on Tuesday.

The presentations, which included long service awards for 25 years-plus, recognised outstanding individual and team staff performance, and were made by college governors and by Mr Pomfret.

The long service awards were presented to: John Buckle, Peter Mitchell, Allen Kirton, Paul Mayer, Martyn Walton, Roger Berry, Bernie Beckett, Ken Dewing, Alan Renwick, Anne Roberts, Alan Wymer, Steve Thurston, Linda Jellis, Gordon Young, Jayne Walpole, Lesley Louth, Andrew England, Joyce Boyce, Margaret Goman, Keith Aplin and Jan Newell.

Awards for Excellence: Team of the Year – Uniformed Services (Lee Mallott, Caroline Mallott, Andy Henderson, Rob Cook, Neil Reader and Karen Williamson); course directors – Ken Dewing and Diane Weir, runner-up Ian Dobson; work-based learning employee of the year – Julie Marsters, runner-up Vicky Mann; excellence in teaching and learning – Des Mitchell and Lisa Prescott, runner-up Jean Stork; manager of the year – Yvette Pratt, runner-up Emma Forrest; new employee of the year – Amanda Marshall, runner-up Ben Curtis; business support employee of the year – Danny Huddlestone and Linda Jellis, runner-up Diane Harrod.
