West Norfolk: 53 more gypsy pitches
GYPSY and traveller communities look set to benefit from an additional 53 pitches in West Norfolk.
The move comes after council bosses were asked to identify suitable land for their accommodation needs.
The move comes after two gypsy and traveller accommodation assessments identified the need for further pitches in the borough by 2010.

The issue will be discussed by West Norfolk Council's cabinet on Tuesday, when members will be asked to support a proposed interim course of action to address the need.
A report to members states the need for additional pitches stems from there being a significant number of settled but unauthorised sites.
Members will be asked to support a course of action which will see council officers working with owners in a bid to authorise sites by supporting the process of gaining planning permission, therefore reducing the need for new provision.
Officers will also be asked to take a lead role in surveying existing sites to establish whether they are being used to capacity.
