WEST NORFOLK: Family centre to open

Troubled families across West Norfolk will soon have extra support available when a new Child Contact Centre opens at the North Lynn Discovery Centre in May.

The centre, run by Peter Barker and a team of 15 volunteers, is set to open at the Columbia Way centre on May 11, running sessions every second and fourth Sunday of the month, between 10am and 1pm.

Mr Barker said: “It has plenty of space and has the facility of separate entrances for mums and dads. At present we estimate that we will have eight volunteers on duty for every contact session.

“With the help of West Norfolk Voluntary Community Action and our volunteers, we have developed a very promising group, who are now completing a full training programme.”

The centre organisers are now taking family referrals and setting up meetings before the opening.

Forms can be obtained by e-mailing klynnccc@gmail.com or telephoning 07805 466916.
