WEST NORFOLK: Woman honours bomber boys with World War II RAF bases

A woman is planning a pilgrimage to former World War II RAF bases to honour her uncle.

Nicola Gaughan, from London, will visit airfields in Norfolk and Lincolnshire on April 8 and 9. She will be ending her motorbike challenge at RAF Feltwell, which was her uncle, Flt Sgt James Lineham’s last base.

He disappeared on April 8, 1942, while on a bombing mission to Hamburg.
