Springwood High School sixth-formers held a Super Learning Day, where speakers gave motivational talks.

Guests included the European boxing champion, Jon Thaxton (pictured centre), entrepreneur and Cosmopolitan young woman of the year, Emily Cummins, the geographer Dr Adrian Martin, of the University of East Anglia and Alastair Humphreys, who cycled around the world. John Hirst, deputy head, said: “The students found this enthralling as they were exposed to inspirational people.” The school is planning future visits from further guests later in the year.
