What will you bid for lifelike doll Charity?
LIKE all babies this one needs a good home – and in getting there it is hoped she will give another boost to the Lynn News Special Care Baby Appeal.
For however lifelike she may look, aptly named baby Charity, is actually a Reborn doll and she is being auctioned to raise money for the appeal.
Grandmother Jill Stevenson, of Middleton, poured hours into creating Charity and is set to donate all proceeds from her sale to the 150,000 appeal to enable an expansion and revamp of Lynn's Queen Elizabeth Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for ill and premature babies.
Mrs Stevenson (63) was inspired to support the appeal having seen her grandsons – Adam Stevenson (15), of Lynn, and Jay Woodcraft (12), of Wereham, nursed to health at the unit when they were each born prematurely.
Charity has had each of her hairs implanted one or two at a time, is weighted to make her feel like a real baby, weighing 5lb 5oz and measuring 18 inches and carefully covered in layers of specialist paint in attempt to make her as lifelike as possible.
To bid or find out more go to: myworld. ebay.co.uk/nannyjs Then click on items for sale and select Charity from the list. The auction closes on Wednesday.
