Wheel of good recycling fortune
WEST Norfolk residents should find recycling a bit easier when a new indicator wheel arrives from the borough council.
The wheel has information on more than 70 different household items, from yoghurt pots to nappies, and says if they can go into recycling bins, should go to recycling centres or cannot be recycled.
“Residents frequently ask for more information about what they can recycle and where they can recycle it, so we have developed the recycling wheel to help them out,” said Cllr Brian Long, West Norfolk cabinet member for environment.
In recent years West Norfolk households have reduced the volume of waste they send to landfill sites by 35 per cent, by recycling at home.
It is hoped the figure will rise as the wheel makes identifying items for recycling much easier.
They will be distributed to around 65,000 households across the borough.
