Wilkinson plans to move into Lynn's empty Woolworths store.

LYNN'S empty Woolworths store could finally be filled after Wilkinson confirmed plans to move from the High Street to the New Conduit site.

A spokesman said the retailer, which stocks a wide range of products including gardening equipment, toys and homeware, was in negotiation to take over the larger, single-storey shop.

Jason Nightingale, community marketing officer, said it was not a "done deal", but it was definitely the company's intention to move into the store and had been looking for someone to take over its High Street premises.

Woolworths, the flagship store of the Vancouver Quarter, opened in March 2006 offering 45 full and part-time jobs.

But the shutters have been down since it was forced to close in November 2008 when the company went into administration.
