Youngsters have a go at being firefighters - watch slideshow

EXCITED youngsters had a chance to play at being firefighters for the day when they had a visit from White Watch at Lynn fire station.

Some 24 youngsters, aged between two and five, had a great time at Nurseryland nursery at Highgate Community Centre in Lynn, when a fire engine, complete with crew, turned up!

Nursery manager Karen Ballard said the youngsters had previously shown an interest in firefighting, and were thrilled when the firefighters came to call on Tuesday, March 2.

Crew members were there an hour and a half - the youngsters having a go at dressing up in firefighter uniforms, working a hose and sitting in the engine, ready for a 'shout'.

They even had a chance to listen to the sirens, the firefighters also answering various questions. "The children are still talking about it," Karen said.
