Your Big Event - All aboard for pirate ship fun
Youngsters at Terrington St Clement Primary and Nursery School had a swell time when they held a special pirates' day.
Around 60 youngsters, from the school's reception and nursery classes, entered into the spirit of the occasion at the school premises in Churchgate Way by turning up in pirate gear such as head scarves, eye patches and tricorn hats.
The activity area was turned into a pirate ship with youngsters able to play among the "rigging" on the "high seas" while other activities included face painting and making swords.
The idea of the day, last Monday, was to launch a pirate project being jointly promoted by nursery teacher Sheila Aston and reception teacher Heather Gascoyne.
"The youngsters had a great time," said Ms Aston, adding the day had been purely for fun.
