Your Big Event - WI party marks a half-century
The Sandringham and District group of Women's Institutes celebrated its 50th anniversary with a special event at Lynn Town Hall.
The group is made up of Anmer, Dersingham, Grimston, Hunstanton, Ingoldisthorpe, Lynn, North Wootton, Snettisham, Sandringham and South Wootton WI's, with a total membership of about 330.
Guests at the "posh frock" event, held on Thursday, June 9, included West Norfolk Mayor councillor Mr Michael Pitcher and his wife, Gillian, the Mayoress.
The WI Federation chairman Susan Warr and secretary Cindy Brookes were also present, along with a guest speaker from Hertfordshire.
"We had a celebratory drink served by a few of our husbands, a wonderful buffet by West Norfolk Flying Chef and a special cake for the occasion," said secretary of the special organising committee, Margaret Woodford.
