Beer drinkers – and the Lynn News – have helped to swell the coffers of the Little Discoverers Centre, which helps children with learning difficulties.

King’s Lynn Beer Festival, held at the Stuart House Hotel in the summer, raised £4,500 for the centre.

Ian Cooper, chairman of the Vancouver Round Table, who organise the annual event, said: “The Beer Festival raises money through sponsorship and raffle tickets.

“This year we raised £4,500 for Little Discoverers, which we didn’t tell them until we presented the cheque.

“When the school first started out they were looking for support and we helped them then. When we saw in the Lynn News that they were in need of funding for some new equipment, we decided to help out again – they only needed £3,000 but we managed to raise even more.”

The festival raises money for a new cause each year. To apply for support, contact Ian on 07786 060768.
