A man who has raised more than £18,000 for charity since being diagnosed with prostate issues 18 years ago has celebrated his 70th birthday with another bumper donation.
Les Gaskins recently handed over a further £1,150 to the Elm Ward at Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital after the money was raised at his 70th birthday party in August.
More than 200 people attended the event at Runcton Holme Village Hall, and enjoyed live music from three bands and an all-day barbecue. Mr Gaskins and his wife Jean, from Runcton Holme, have raised thousands of pounds for the hospital in the past, as well as for Prostate Cancer Care and other charities.
He said: “They all do a terrific job of looking after people, and this is just a way of being able to say thanks for everything they do.”
Mr and Mrs Gaskins are pictured handing over the cheque to Elm Ward sister Cathryn Abbs-Rowe, left, at the hospital last week.
