Pupils at St Germans Primary School enjoyed a visit from a children’s author who shared her latest book with them and spoke about hearing health.
Susan Young, who suffers from hearing loss and wears hearing aids, and staff of Lynn’s Specsavers’ hearing centre gave a special assembly, with a reading of Susan’s new book Tess and the Family Secret.
Susan, pictured with the pupils and Specsavers staff, spoke about overcoming hearing loss to achieve her goals and gave the children signed copies of her book.
She said: “It was fantastic to have my book read to the local children of St Germans Primary School.
“The other side of the day was talking to the children about hearing health. It is something you never think about as a child, and often this ignorance continues into adulthood. Checks are free, and everyone should be taking advantage of this service.”
Octavia Lord, hearing director at Specsavers, said: “This was the perfect way to engage with an audience who would never have thought about their hearing health.
