Dame Stella Rimington with Lynn soroptomists

The former head of MI5, Dame Stella Rimington, was guest speaker at Soroptimists International Kings Lynn’s literary lunch.

Dame Stella, who has a home in West Norfolk, gave an interesting insight into her life at MI5 during the days of her directorship.

The audience of about 150 people heard how she joined the Security Service in 1968 and worked in all of the main fields of the service.

The lunch raised £1,100 towards the president, Mary Plant’s, chosen charity which is West Norfolk MIND.
