A charity shop is appealing for information after finding an antique gold wedding ring at the bottom of a pile of donated goods.
Staff at the Sue Ryder shop in Westgate, Hunstanton, believe the ring was donated by mistake and would like to return the band of gold to its owner.
Although plain in design, the ring has a distinguishing mark which it is hoped will make it easier to identify to whom it belongs. It is also hallmarked and is believed to date back to the 19th century, meaning it could be a family heirloom.
Assistant manager Jo Martinez discovered the ring lying loose on the floor of the shop on Thursday, September 19, after clearing a large number of “Gift Aid” sacks.
Jo, pictured above with the ring, said: “It must have been lost by someone who kindly donated to us, probably within the last two weeks. We are fortunate to have invaluable support from donors, many of them regulars. We are keen to reunite the ring with its owner. We will be able to give them back some of the loyalty and support they give to enable Sue Ryder to provide incredible care.”
