Generous readers have already kickstarted the Lynn News Help Our Hospice Appeal with a four-figure sum towards the £25,000 target to equip a bedroom at the new state-of-the-art facility at Hillington.

As soon as we launched our appeal two weeks ago, cheques and cash pledges, including an anonymous donation of £1,000, started arriving at Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House in Snettisham.

And now as a new year is about to begin, we are asking our readers to get behind this worthwhile cause and rise to the challenge of raising the money needed to furnish an in-patient bedroom at the £3.4 million Hillington hospice due to be completed by March.

All donations, no matter what the size, will be gratefully received and go directly towards the room’s decoration, furniture and specialist equipment.

The hospice helps people with all kinds of life-limiting illnesses and is able to give the people who look after them a much-needed break. You may wish to pledge your support with a donation or by staging a fundraiser of your choice.

The fundraising office at Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House can give you advice and help with promotional material. Everyone who takes part with a fundraising event, whether it’s an individual or a large business, will have the opportunity to publicise their event in the Lynn News free. We would be pleased to send a photographer to cover the occasion or receive pictures you have taken yourself.

And as a way of thanks and recognition for your good deeds, everyone who takes part will receive a special Lynn News Help Our Hospice Appeal certificate to display in places such as offices, schools and meeting rooms.

If you are planning an event, please get in touch with hospice community fundraiser Lindsey Atkin on 01485 542891 or send an email to lindsey.atkin@norfolkhospice.org.uk

Please help us to Help Our Hospice so that we can all make a difference to those people who benefit from its good work.
