As Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House enters its 30th anniversary year, it is planning numerous fun events to celebrate the milestone and help raise funds vital for delivering its services across Norfolk and The Fens.
With a new hospice due for completion at Hillington in March – and a special Lynn News Help Our Hospice Appeal to equip one of the rooms (see page 84) – it looks set to be a truly memorable year.
Among the events which will directly support the hospice is the West Norfolk Gilbert and Sullivan Operatic Society’s production of The Sorcerer, which returns to the familiar stage of Lynn Arts Centre, a venue it regularly used before the Corn Exchange. The colourful show gets under way from Thursday, January 30 to Saturday, February 1. Tickets cost £12 for adults, £11 concessions and £5 for children, To book call the box office on 01553 764864.
For more fans of music, another date for the diary is Saturday, February 8, when The Black Dyke Bank will be in concert at Norwich Cathderal at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £19.50, £17 concessions, and can be booked on 0800 1404678.
For those who enjoy the great outdoors and like to admire early blooms of the year, then the Walsingham Charity Snowdrop Walk is a must. It takes place on Saturday, February 15, and costs £4 for adults and £2.50 for children. Walkers can head off between 10am and 4pm.
The thrill of the racecourse will be brought to Sandringham’s Park House during a Race Night on Friday, February 28. The first race takes place at 7.30pm and tickets, including a Priors hotdog, cost £5. Call 01485 542891 to book.
