Pink Elephant at Norfolk Hospice

Pink Elephant at Norfolk Hospice

Fundraisers are welcome to join our team of charity champs who are raising vital funds in aid the Lynn News Help Our Hospice Appeal.

Our appeal aims to raise £25,000 which will fully equip and furnish one of the in-patient rooms at the new hospice being built at Hillington.

The room will have specialist equipment ensuring patients, their families and visitors have as much comfort as possible during their stay.

Equipment needed includes abed and hoist system, special mattresses, plus an en-suite facility and TV and technology, including Wi-Fi. Each room will have a patio overlooking surrounding countryside to give peaceful views and a power supply will be installed here for the bed and oxygen.

But in order to buy these items, we need your help, whether it’s taking up the challenge to run for the Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House team in the Bespak GEAR event in Lynn on Sunday, May 4, or holding an event of your own choosing.

Whatever you choose to do, we would love to hear from you and will give you free publicity for your event whether it’s organised by an individual or a business. We’re happy to take pictures of your fundraiser and you will also receive a certificate to recognise your contribution.

Anyone who runs for the hospice team in GEAR will receive a free t-shirt to wear on race day and will be able to use the hospice’s marquee on the Tuesday Market Place where refreshments will be provided for runners.

Anyone who wants to take part can contact hospice community fundraiser Lindsey Atkin on 01485 542891 for details about how to enter, or you can go to the official website and register. Go to www.grandeastangliarun.co.uk

If you don’t sign up for the race, then you could still help raise funds for this important appeal by holding quizzes, car boot sales, coffee mornings, cake stalls, car washes, raffles and tombolas – or any other event of your choice. If you wish to hold a street or superstore collection, then contact the fundraising team on the number above and they will be able to advise.

So if you can help please call Lindsey Atkin, on 01485 542891 or email her lindsey.atkin@norfolkhospice.org.uk, or call Julie Graham at the Lynn News on 01553 817305 or send an email to julie.graham@jpress.co.uk
