A West Norfolk charity for sick children was given a welcome boost on Sunday when an astronomer won £2,750 for it on BBC’s Celebrity Mastermind.
With quizmaster John Humphrys testing his knowledge on the history of coffee, the charity’s patron, Mark Thompson, pitted his wits against Cheryl Baker, Guy Henry and Tim Bentinck.
Jim Lewis, who founded Reach For A Star after his son became ill with a rare brain tumour, said: “We are really grateful for the donation and the publicity – it has really helped to get the name of the charity out there.
“The money will go towards helping local children, but at the moment we do have an excess of money and are looking for children with life threatening illnesses and their families who are in need.
“If you know anyone in need of financial support, please call us on 01553 660902 or search the charity on Facebook.”
