College of West Anglia Fury basketball coach James Bamfield remained positive after his side suffered a last-gasp defeat at Ware in their opening National League fixture.
The Rebels snatched victory right on the buzzer after Fury had led going into the dying seconds of the match. After the agonising 75-73 loss, Bamfield said: “It was disappointing to not get the win today as the game was ours to lose.
“The good news is we haven’t even scratched the surface of what our side is now capable of and we’ll improve week-by-week.
“I’m frustrated because, if I’m honest, I think I made a couple of tactical errors late in the game and if I had it to do again I might do things differently.
“However I was delighted with some of our play that at times was of a very high standard and as I said earlier we have a lot of room to grow as I think we’re only at maybe 30 per cent of where we can be.
“Defence is definitely something we want to focus on. If we can hold teams to under 65 points it will put us in a great position to win every week.”
