The A47 is closed in both directions at Middleton after a serious crash.
A woman from the lorry and a man, in his 40s, in the car were treated at the scene for potentially serious injuries.
Two ambulances, two paramedic officers and the East Anglian Air Ambulance were called to the scene in Lynn Road, close to the Crown pub, at 1.48pm.
Paramedic Officer, Terry Hicks, attended the scene. He said: “The car had gone into a wall after colliding with the lorry and a man was trapped inside. It was a tricky extrication and the man suffered injuries to his shoulder, arm and pelvis but he was quite lucky as they weren’t as serious as we first thought.
“We also treated a woman for what could be a serious pelvic injury. Both were conveyed by land to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment.”
The A47 is closed in both directions at Middleton, six fire engines were also on the scene.
