Ben Colson is suprised at his retirement lunch from Norfolk Green with a bus named after him.

Despite retiring from a career on the buses, former Norfolk Green managing director Ben Colson will continue to be seen out and about in West Norfolk– after a bus was named after him.

Mr Colson, pictured above, received the surprise accolade at his retirement lunch at Knights Hill Hotel, Lynn, on Friday.

He bought the firm in 1996 and took it from a force of three buses to 70.

He made the decision to sell the firm during his recovery from a sudden heart problem last summer, which forced him to take three months off work.

Stagecoach, one of the UK’s largest bus operators, bought Norfolk Green, the award-winning, independent West Norfolk bus operator in December.
