A new £200,000 eco-classroom is urgently needed to secure the future of a village pre-school, officials say.
Youngsters at the Buttercups nursery in Middleton are pictured above as the campaign intensifies to raise the money needed for the new building in the grounds of the village primary school.
The nursery, which currently meets on weekday mornings during term-time at the village hall, wants to move so it can offer all-day care throughout the year.
Managers say the move is vital to reverse a decline in numbers using the nursery and guarantee its future.
Committee member Natasha Milne said: “It’s not practial for us to run from the village hall.”
So far, around £17,000 has been raised, though fundraisers say they need to raise £50,000 to improve their chances of securing grants for the project.
The development was originally granted planning permission by West Norfolk Council in November 2012.
