Two people have been arrested and released on conditional bail following the theft of a handbag from a mobility scooter which had fallen on top of a disabled grandmother.

A man and woman, both in their 30s, were arrested on Friday, December 20, and have been bailed until
January 14.

The incident happened in The Walks, Lynn, on December 14, when Joann Sands, 53, made her way home with her husband after a party.

It was reported at the time that her mobility scooter caught on a branch and
overturned, with a passer-by
making off with her handbag.

The bag contained personal photographs of her mother’s wedding, her children and her grandchildren, a mobile phone and inhaler.
