An allegation that a woman was attacked during a break-in at a Lynn home has now been withdrawn, police have revealed.

An investigation was launched in connection with a reported incident at an address in Spenser Road on December 22.

At the time, it was reported that a woman on the Grange Estate had received hospital treatment following an alleged burglary and assault.

However, in a statement, a police spokesman said: “Detectives have carried out a full investigation which has determined that no such crime has occurred.

“The complainant has since confirmed that the incident as originally reported did not happen and has withdrawn her complaint.”
