An author whose new book will raise funds for a Norfolk cancer charity has visited the cause’s Lynn base to promote the work.

Richard Jefferson, pictured above, signed copies of his work, A Victorian Gentleman’s North Norfolk, at the Big C charity shop in Norfolk Street last Monday.

Mr Jefferson’s fundraising was inspired by the death of his wife, Pauline, from cancer. Copies of the book are currently on sale at the shop, and all other Big C premises across the county, with all the proceeds going to the charity.

The book centres on the life of Pauline’s great great uncle, WJJ Bolding, who was a farmer and pioneering photographer during the Victorian period.

The book features many pictures he took in Lynn, North Runcton, Castle Acre and Castle Rising and also details his family’s links to the town. His brother-in-law, William Monement, was Lynn’s mayor in 1864. MLNF13AF11581
