Pupils at South Wootton Junior School and Springwood High School were among those who welcomed poets from the King’s Lynn Poetry Festival into their classrooms on Friday.
While poet Helen Ivory was at Springwood, South Wootton children pictured above met New Zealand poet, Rhian Gallagher, ahead of the weekend’s events.
Teacher Judith Wait said: “It was really interesting and the children enjoyed listening to her poems and to how she gets the ideas and inspiration for her poetry.
“It really encouraged the children to write their own poetry from the things around them and to edit their own work. They will now write their own poems to send to Rhian and we hope that she will write her own poetry about her visit here.”
