Big tops could continue to be stored at a site in Northwold if planners give the green light.

West Norfolk Council’s planning committee have been recommended to approve an application to store and maintain big tops and other equipment associated with the entertainment industry at Oak Lodge, Thetford Road.

N Wellard supplies and puts up big tops for events and functions around the country. He uses the site for the storage of seats, fences and other pieces of machinery.

Norfolk County Council’s highways authority has objected to the plans due to concerns about the access point on to the A134.

But West Norfolk planners do not feel the impact on traffic would be sufficient to warrant refusal.
