A house on Lynn’s Fairstead estate remains sealed off this lunchtime, Thursday, April 24, following an incident in which armed police were called to the area yesterday afternoon.
Norfolk Police have confirmed that armed officers were deployed to Freiston shortly before 4pm on Wednesday following reports that a man in a vehicle was carrying a firearm.
A spokesman said: “Investigations led police to a property on Freiston, on the Fairstead Estate.
“One man was arrested at the scene and a seal remains in place whilst investigations continue.”
The man remains in custody.
No-one was injured in the incident and the spokesman confirmed that the area is still being searched, though it is not known whether any weapon has been recovered.
A nearby resident, who asked not to be named, said he had seen eight police vehicles at the scene, while a car was removed from the area on Wednesday night.
