Scores of new engineering jobs could be created in the Downham area with BT announcing plans to create 150 new engineering jobs in the region and keen to recruit in Downham.
The company’s local network business Openreach is hoping to recruit a number of former military personnel but will also be accepting applications from civilians. Chief executive of Openreach, Joe Garner, said: “We want to attract the best in the country to a career in engineering. We are also keen to recruit women – as I’m keen to dispel the myth that being an engineer is an exclusively male vocation.”
