Budding sports people with learning disabilities in West Norfolk are being encouraged to attend a taster day next week.
The event has been organised by Special Olympics Norfolk and is being held at the University of East Anglia next Friday, October 11.
Richard Sanders, chairman of Special Olympic Norfolk, said: “We hope as many adults as possible with special needs, aged 16 and above, will take up this fantastic opportunity to try out new sports, have a lot of fun and find out what Special Olympics is about and up to across the county.”
The day will showcase athletics, cricket, golf, tennis and boccia, a form of bowls for players with cerebral palsy, with specialist coaches and volunteers on hand to organise mini competitions, provide training and support for all those interested.
The group is also keen to hear from the families of youngsters who want to get involved. Phone Kay Bailey on 07825 778173 or Linda Shiner on 07415 894700 for more information.
