A vacancy on Hunstanton Town Council is to be advertised this week with the possibility that there could be an election next month.
West Norfolk Council has fixed the date for any election at Thursday, January 30, if nominations for more than one person are received.
The Notice of Election will be published tomorrow and nomination papers must be received by the Returning Officer no later than noon on Friday, January 3. The borough council offices are closed from 2pm on Christmas Eve until 8.45am on Thursday, January 2.
If there is voting, it will be held at Hunstanton Town Hall from 7am to 10pm on election day.
Applications to vote by post must be received by 5pm on Wednesday, January 15. Postal Votes will be despatched on Monday, January 20. Applications to vote by proxy must be received by 5pm on Wednesday, January 22.
There are 17 councillors on the town council. Recent vacancies have been filled by co-option rather than election.
