A £13,000 boost to Tilney St Lawrence playground is drawing in children from miles around.

The new trim trail and disabled-friendly roundabout installed at the recreation area adds to the wide range of play and sports equipment already on offer.

Keith Bodimeade, chairman of the village hall committee, said the additions completed a project costing a total of £175,000. The recreation area caters for children up to 12 years old and includes a skate park and multi-use games area, along with swings, slides and climbing frames.

Mr Bodimeade said: “I am absolutely over the moon with it. Over the weekend there must have been about 50 people in the play area. It’s great to see it all being used. Because it was designed by the kids they respect it. Even though some of the equipment has been in a couple of years it’s still in good condition with no graffiti.”

Pictured opening the trim trail are West Norfolk deputy borough mayor and mayoress Barry and Christine Ayres.
