Two Sing for Wellbeing community choirs, one in Snettisham and one in Fakenham are inviting new members to join them.

A new 12-week term begins tomorrow at St Mary’s church hall in Snettisham and on Thursday at the Hawk and Owl Trust on Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve.

The Snettisham choir meets every Wednesday 10am-12pm and the Fakenham one at 7-9pm.#

Singers in the Fakenham group will be learning new songs in order to carry out a winter concert at the
beginning of December.

People who are keen to have a go can take advantage of an anytime free taster session by visiting the Sing For Wellbeing website or by picking up the telephone.

Places are limited due to space so it is advisable to book early in order to avoid disappointment.

Carol O’Neill, who established the choirs four years ago, said: “They are extremely sensitive, loyal and hard-working groups, who clearly love the experience.

“Many of the singers were not that confident about their singing voices to begin with but in time have become tight-knit in their vocal harmonies and as a group.

“At the same time they are extremely welcoming of new singers who happen to walk over the threshold and embrace them with the warmest of hearts.

“It doesn’t matter if you don’t read music because songs are taught by ear, there are no auditions and you never have to sing on your own unless you choose to.

“The type of music we sing varies and may include folk, pop, early music, original works and world music.

“I am moved by the friendship that develops between people who become supportive of each other in the singing and in their lives.”

The choirs are for all age groups. Call Carol on 01328 838316 or see the website www.singforwellbeing.co.uk
