College tutors have been helping a group of Lynn children to learn a trade, though it might be a few years before they put their skills into practice.

Dozens of youngsters from the St Edmunds Primary school took part in a bricklaying session at the town’s College of West Anglia campus on Friday morning.

Around 40 children in the school’s Penguins reception class and Little Gulls nursery made the visit, which was arranged as part of the school’s current topic work on the Three Little Pigs.

The groups had already built walls of sticks and wood and will be hoping their pyramid-shaped mini brick wall won’t be blown down any time soon.

College staff helped the children to lay the bricks and presented them with certificates and a gift bag afterwards.
