While Countryfile was visiting Hunstanton with a focus on the tidal surge, it’s all systems go in the community orchard.

Tuesday, March 11 saw the first pruning session and having recently attended the East of England Apple and Orchards project pruning course, warden Pat Richardson and Adrian Winnington were on hand to demonstrate the techniques before volunteers set about pruning all the ‘pipped’ fruit trees.

Adrian said: “The stone fruits like cherries and plums will be pruned in May and today we are concentrating on the pipped fruits.”
