West End performer Darren Day has been named as the star of this year’s panto performance of Beauty and the Beast at Lynn’s Corn Exchange.

Corn Exchange general manager, Les Miller, said “We are thrilled to have Darren joining us for Christmas in what promises to be another excellent pantomime.

“Darren is a highly experienced and talented performer who will wow audiences as he plays The Beast and magically transforms into the handsome Prince.”

Known for his West End lead performances in Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, Copacabana and Summer Holiday, he is no stranger to pantomime having played Captain Hook in Peter Pan for the last two years.

Mr Day will join the cast for the role of the Beast and Prince, with Ian Marr returning to take up the role of Dame Derriere, and Steven Pinder playing The Baron.

Joining him onstage in his pantomime debut will be KL.FM96.7 breakfast presenter Adam Newstead who is taking up the role of Bertrand the Butler.

He tweeted: “Darren Day and me – what a duo!”

This follows three successful pantomimes by Jordan Productions.

Beauty and the Beast will be on stage from December 6 to 31. Book tickets by calling 01553 764864 or at www.kingslynncornexchange.co.uk
