Managers of a mental health care service in Swaffham have praised the supporters who helped them raise £2,000 at their annual ball.
The Merle Boddy Day Centre held the black tie event at the town’s Assembly Rooms last weekend.
The proceeds of the evening, which included a two course dinner and music by live band The Foolish, will be ploughed into improving facilities at the centre, run by the Swaffham and District Mental Health Association.
Centre manager Georgina Bell thanked staff and volunteers for all their work to organise the evening, adding: “I could not have done it without their help.”
Planning is already underway for the 2015 event.
And Mrs Bell also thanked everyone who attended on the night, plus the local businesses and community groups who helped them ahead of the ball.
The money raised will be used to build new fencing at the centre’s Station Yard site, in order to create a new, secure outdoor area for the people who use the facility. It is also hoped they will have their own garden.
