A Denver man could be a contender for the title of West Norfolk’s oldest biker.

Peter Cotterell still climbs onto his Honda Civic 250 CVR at the age of 84.

Mr Cotterell first got a taste for motorbikes as a 16-year-old in 1945 and has never looked back.

He said: “I just love it and find it very relaxing. I like the freedom. I don’t go as fast as I used to.”

But Mr Cotterell was due to take a motorbike test after being called up for national service in the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers.

He said: “When it came to my motorbike test, the instructor said he had seen me ride, called me mad and said I had passed.”

Mr Cotterell, who owned a motorcycle business until he retired three year ago, also enjoyed motocross.

He said: “I still go out once a week on the bike, if the weather is good. ”
