Dersingham Cricket Club’s Sunday XI secured promotion and possibly the title after beating local rivals Snettisham at the weekend.
The club are waiting to hear from the Mid Norfolk Sunday League if they are champions of Peter Parfitt Division Three after having an identical record as Barney.
This was probably the biggest-ever game for the Sunday XI in three years.
Captain James Havers won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Openers Ben Southgate and B. Linsell bowled brilliantly from the first ball to put Snettisham under a lot of pressure.
Southgate picked up three wickets for 15 runs, including the big wicket of A. Herbert, in his first six overs.
Pete Brassett and Jamie Cook were brought into the attack to further pile the pressure on Snettisham.
Both Brassett and Cook collected three wickets each in their six-over spells.
Henry Loughlin was brought on for one over and claimed the final wicket to bowl Snettisham out for a very poor total of 77.
Alex Havers and the in-form Jamie White opening the batting for Dersingham and got them off to the perfect start going at five-an-over for the first six overs.
White was then bowled for 11. Mark Harman came in at three and he and Havers looked in great nick scoring freely and quickly.
Dersingham won the game by nine wickets with Havers finishing 34 not out and Harman 13 not out.
Kl Nuts & Bolts MoM: Alex Havers.
