A father-and-son team are preparing to drive across Europe in a banger rally to raise funds for the cancer unit at Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Colin Hartless, from Dersingham, and his son Lee will use a 19-year-old Vauxhall Astra, with just under 59,000 miles on the clock, to go from Cornwall to Croatia later this year to aid the unit that treated Colin when he was diagnosed with bowel cancer last year.
Colin was inspired to fundraise by the care he received at the unit. And he has pledged that all supporters will be able to have a say on how the cash raised is used by the unit.
He said: “We can’t cure cancer and we can’t walk on water, but we can work together to help people at such a difficult time in their lives.”
