A Downham day centre’s 37th anniversary was celebrated with songs.

The Silverdale Day Centre held a party at the Jubilee Community Centre which included a fish and chip supper along with a birthday cake.

Guests and staff enjoyed singing with entertainer Joe Toes.

The club, which meets at the community centre in Howdale Road on Wednesdays from 10am to 3pm, is open to housebound local residents and aims to give a break to carers.

The popular sessions include games of bingo and a hot meal

Dorothy Dane, who runs the centre, said, “It was a lovely occasion and everyone thoroughly enjoyed joining in.”
