Downham Market Royal British Legion celebrates collector’s 50 years of service to Poppy Appeal

Downham Royal British Legion has thanked Rosemary Durrant for her 50 years of service for the Poppy Appeal.

Mrs Durrant has been collecting throughout the Downham area but is now concentrating on Wimbotsham.

Appeal organiser Peter Mouncer said: “I am most grateful for people like Rosemary.”

She is pictured receiving her certificate from chairman Doug Smith (right) and Mr Mouncer.

Inset: The branch has also been presented with a fantastic quilt to mark the 100th anniversary of the First World War by the patchwork & quilting section of Downham’s University of the 3rd Age.
