An 87-year-old driver has been fined for pulling out in front of a motorcyclist.

Dorothy Wilson did not see Christopher Green’s motorbike in East Winch.

Lynn magistrates heard on Tuesday that Miss Wilson was waiting to emerge onto the A47 from Church Lane at about 5.20pm on July 18, 2012.

Richard Paterson, prosecuting, said witnesses saw Miss Wilson pull out and Mr Green collide with the back of her Ford Focus.

Mr Green suffered nerve damage and a fractured femur as a result.

Miss Wilson, of Manor Farm, East Winch, admitted driving without due care and attention.

Mitigating, Martin Newton, said Miss Wilson looked, but did not see a vehicle and pulled out after being flashed by a van.

Mr Newton said Miss Wilson accepts that she should have looked again.

He added that this was her first accident.

The bench were told that Miss Wilson has re-applied for her licence, which was revoked last year by the DVLA.

Magistrates fined her £270 and endorsed her licence with six points. She was ordered to pay £85 costs and £27 victim surcharge.
